This exercise deliberately widens it: it asks you to imagine your best possible self in your relationships, work, and inner life, where everything has gone as well as it could. Don’t be modest here; modesty in imagining robs you of knowing what you truly want. Writing in sensory detail — not as vague wishes — is what lifts optimism and clarifies your direction, because it turns a hazy desire into a picture you can walk toward. This is an inspiring vision, not a standard to be held to or a comparison with your reality. Worth your reflection: which detail in the picture made your heart beat? That detail is your compass.
