Frequently asked

What is Held, and is it therapy?
An AI conversation space that helps you describe feelings and reflect on experiences through gentle questions. It can remember sessions you chose to save. It is not a psychologist, therapy, or diagnosis, and its clinical effectiveness has not been established. If you need diagnosis or treatment, or face an acute crisis, contact a licensed professional or emergency service.
How many free sessions does Held give?
Limits: free plan 1 session, permanently · monthly plan 12 sessions/mo, annual unlimited. If you have thoughts of harming yourself or you are in danger, please do not stay alone: reach someone you trust or a professional now, or call emergency services.
What is the "Explore Your Story" option?
The "Explore Your Story" option appears when you start your first session: your guide works with you to understand the story you carry about yourself from your experiences — where it came from, and how it shapes what you feel and do today. You can talk about anything either way ("Open Held" or "Explore Your Story") — it only sets how we begin, not what topics are allowed. If you started with one, you can switch to the other anytime from the "Your session style" section on the Held page.
