Feeling Unheard by Your Partner
You talk regularly, but your words do not seem to land. You share something and get a quick fix before you even feel understood.
You might notice
- You share something important and get advice before you are even done talking.
- You have stopped sharing certain things because "what is the point, they will not really get it."
What generally helps
- Ask for what you need before the conversation starts: "I do not need advice right now, I just need you to hear this."
- Check that you have been understood, not just heard — ask your partner to reflect back what they took from it, in their own words.
